At Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) by Joe, we believe that health is more than just the absence of disease. It is a state of physical and mental well-being. What makes this clinic unique is its effectiveness in decreasing suffering because we believe our patients, we listen to our patients, and we conduct thorough histories and examinations. These usually lead to possible diagnoses (“medical problems”) not yet explored, which when treated, usually lead to positive outcomes.
Our team with its expertise in PM&R and Osteopathic Manual Medicine (OMM) is dedicated to helping our patients achieve optimal health and wellness through treatment plans. Our goal is to empower our patients to take control of their health and live their best lives.
We consider factors such as activity levels, sleep and overall lifestyle to address the root issues affecting your well-being, allowing us to provide comprehensive treatment for both acute and chronic conditions.
Your first visit will include you providing your detailed medical history and receiving a thorough medical exam, specialized in the musculoskeletal system. That is the system that includes mainly the muscles, bones, joints, soft tissues, nerves. We may order lab or imaging tests to create a diagnosis and treatment plan. When appropriate, your provider may offer an osteopathic manipulation treatment, a hands-on approach where your provider moves your muscles and joints using techniques such as manual pressure of varying degrees, manual stretching, gentle resistance from the patient's muscles and range of motion maneuvers.
We help with anything that causes pain or affects how you move—whether it’s your muscles, joints, bones, or nerves.
We also support conditions that may involve these systems, including:
• Breathing difficulties
• Abdominal or pelvic problems
• Heart-related issues
• Headaches
• Pregnancy-related concerns
• Circulation problems
• Slow-healing wounds
• Emotional stress
This is possible because the way the body is structured, the somatic system (bones, joints, muscles, other soft tissues) is supported by the organ systems (heart, lungs, stomach, intestines, etc.), so that the person can move, communicate and reach their goals. This interconnectedness means that working with both systems in mind is key to achieving lasting health and well-being, as focusing on just one without the other limits progress.
At PM&R by Joe, we treat patients of all ages (newborn to elderly) and are committed to providing holistic care that helps you live, move, and thrive.
Our clinic specializes in OMM treatment and rehabilitation for acute and chronic conditions, addressing issues relating to arthritis, fibromyalgia, and helping with pain management.
OMM provides relief for pain and discomfort caused by conditions like herniated discs, joint injuries and chronic pain. We want to evaluate and treat the root causes of things like migraines, joint pain, and more using osteopathic techniques.
Consistently using repetitive movements from work, sports or hobbies can lead to chronic pain and injury. We use OMM to help alleviate discomfort and promote healing.
